Start Here

You don’t start with music.
We start with a conversation.

What This Is:

A Different Kind of Support

This isn’t therapy.
It’s not coaching.
And it’s not about fixing you.

It’s a guided, creative process where we:

  • Talk through what you’re dealing with

  • Get to the heart of the thoughts that keep looping

  • Shape a message your mind actually needs to hear

  • Reinforce that message through music

Think of it like talking with a friend who truly understands people—

and knows how to turn insight into something you can return to.

What the Process Looks Like:

1. We talk (about 90 minutes)

It’s a real conversation, not an evaluation.

We sit down (over ZOOM or in person) —just you and me—and talk.

I learn about you and some of the things that you're dealing with.

It's enjoyable, and something most people tell me they enjoyed the most.

Step 2: We get to the heart of it

Together, we look for:

The beliefs underneath the pain

The negative thoughts your brain returns to,

and what your mind might be missing—possible blind spots

We might do some stream-of-conscious writing

to help you figure out the message that would benefit you the most,

We don't worry about structure or music..

Step 3: We shape a new message

From there, I help:

Pull out the most honest, supportive ideas

Shape words that can gently offset negative thought patterns

Create a message that feels true—not forced or fake

This is where insight happens.

Step 4: We anchor it in music

I then turn that message into lyric ideas and musical direction.

We go back and forth:

You respond to what resonates

We adjust wording and tone

The song begins to take shape naturally

Music becomes the place your mind can return to—again and again.

What You Walk Away With:

More than a song

By the end of the process, most people experience:

New insight and clarity into how they think and why.

  • New insight and clarity into how they think and why.

  • A clearer, healthier perspective

  • A sense of hope and forward movement

And you’ll have a hope song
a song that represents what you’re learning and where you’re going.

Something tangible that came from the hard.

Sharing Your Hope (Optional, Never Required)

Some people choose to keep their song just for themselves.

Others eventually decide to share it—
as a way to encourage someone who’s still in the middle of their hard.

If you want, your hope song can be shared on the Songs4U website so others can hear what helped you.

Your pain doesn’t have to be the end of the story.
It can become part of someone else’s beginning.

Who This Is For:

This may be a good fit if:

  • You feel stuck in negative thought cycles

  • You’re emotionally tired of trying to “figure it out”

  • You connect deeply to music

  • You want a gentle, human way forward

This may not be a fit if:

  • You’re looking for clinical treatment or diagnosis

  • You’re in immediate crisis and need urgent support

(If that’s the case, a licensed mental health professional is the right place to start.)

Your Next Step

You don’t have to explain everything.

The next step is a short, gentle form—

just enough for me to understand where you are and how to respond thoughtfully.

No pressure.
No commitment.
Just a first step.
